Scrapping Qabala Radar lease will not harm Russian interests – General Ostapenko

Russia’s scrapping of the lease of the Daryal Radar system for missile detection will not harm its interests, as stated by Russian Lieutenant General, Commander of the Aerospace Defense Forces, ITAR-TASS reports.

A good compensation of loss of Daryal in Qabala is the two Voronezh-type radar stations operating at decimeter or meter range. The Armavir Radar has better characteristics than Qabala. However, Russia could still make use of the Qabala Radar, the general concludes.
