Elnur Aslanov, head of the section for political analysis and information support of the Azerbaijani Presidential Administration, has commented on Russia’s statement regarding the Qabala Radar, Trend reports.
Aslanov said that the figures and proposals set by Azerbaijan meet modern demands. Azerbaijan is the regional leader and cannot have foreign military bases on its territory. Negotiations between Russia and Azerbaijan on lease of the Qabala Radar need to continue, he believes.
Lieutenant-General Oleg Ostapenko, Commander of the Russian Aerospace Forces, said that Russia’s quitting lease of the Qabala Radar would not harm its interests. The Armavir Radar could compensate the loss and operate with even greater output, the general adds.
