The US admitted preparations of Syrian opposition to take over power in the country, New York Times reports.
US CIA officers have been operating in the southern part of Turkey for a week to prevent Al Qaeda from obtaining weapons. Weapons are transported to opposition through the Turkish border. Muslim Brotherhood is supporting the operation. Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Qatar pay for shipments of weapons.
Carney said at the White House on Thursday that the CIA officers were studying the composition of opposition. He admitted that the United States was organizing opposition.
Washington is also considering additional support for the rebels, such as satellite images and other intelligence information. Opposition may form own intelligence.
