Russian President Vladimir Putin is having a two-day visit to Israel. He will meet Israeli president and PM and lay flowers at the Red Army Memorial.
Putin landed at the Ben Gurion International Airport in Tel Aviv, RIA Novosti reports.
The Russian leader will visit Netanya to open the memorial and meet Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to discuss bilateral economic ties, international problems, situation in Syria, Iran, Palestine. Putin will meet President Shimon Peres in the evening.
A special lunch will conclude the first day at the presidential garden.
Putin will visit Palestinian territories on Tuesday and meet President of the Palestinian National Authority Mahmoud Abbas. They will discuss Syria, Iran, Israel. The two leaders will also talk about the status of the Russian museum complex in Jericho, attend the opening of the Russian center for science and culture in Bethlehem and visit the center’s library.
Putin will make a quick visit to Jordan to meet King Abdullah II and observe the Place of Jesus’ Baptism. The Russian leader will also attend the opening of the Strannopriimny Center of the Russian Orthodox Church.
