Georgian president promises fair parliamentary polls

Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili has urged executives to make parliamentary elections fair and democratic, Trend reports.

Saakashvili emphasized that the elections in autumn are essential to enforce democracy. The president noted that the two principles are non-tolerance of civil bribery and full clarity of campaigning and the polls. All TV channels will broadcast debates.

The president called attention to the fact that some political forces had been punished for attempting to violate the law and bribe voters.
