Major Sergey Kovalchuk, former head of the financial service of the military base 44822, an accountant of the same base Warrant Officer Zakir Magomedov, senior states inspector of departures from the interregional inspection N4 for Chechnya Shovkhal Didiyev are accused of stealing over 114 million rubles from the base.
Kovalchuk has been sentenced to 5 years of prison, RIA Novosti reports.
The suspects had 50 million rubles in cash when they were arrested. Magomedov and Didiyev got 9 and 8 years of prison respectively.
