Dagestan started the 9th rural sports games at the Trud Stadium in Izberbash, RIA Dagestan reports.
Olga Gorlova, chief expert of the section for physical education of the Ministry for Physical Education and Sports, said that the games were organized by the Ministry for Physical Education and Sports and the Agriculture Ministry. 75 athletes from 42 districts will take part. Russia holds games for 17 types of sports, Dagestan holds for 12.
The volleyball team of the Tabasaransky District has been winning for several years.
Winners will get diplomas and medals. 44 people will take part in the all-Russian rural games in Cheboksary on July 13-18.
