Iran has three super-heavy submarines in the Gulf, but uses light submarines in the Caspian Sea, Trend reports.
Iranian Admiral Abbas Zamini said that the country produces medium submarines and plans to build more super-heavy ones. Naval groups are planning to enter the northern part of the Indian Ocean, Red Sea, Suez Canal, Mediterranean Sea and the Gulf of Aden.
Iranian ships passed the Suez Canal for the second time since the Islamic Revolution uin February 2012.
Head of the Azerbaijani State Naval Administration Gudrat Gurbanov said on Thursday that no country should have submarines in the Caspian Sea.
