The Georgian Prime Minister has discussed bilateral relations with his Japanese counterpart. The meeting of Nika Gilauri with Yoshihiko Noda was held in Tokyo in the framework of an official visit by the Georgian Prime Minister to Japan, Trend reports.
The conversation was held around political and economic issues, Gilauri told Georgian journalists after the meeting.
"Japan strongly supports the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Georgia and supports it in all international organizations.
So the political issue was discussed on a background of friendship and goodwill. Official Tokyo will continue to pursue a policy of non-recognition of the breakaway regions of Georgia and will support our country in various international organizations," the Prime Minister of Georgia said.
He also expressed satisfaction with the negotiations in the economic sphere. "Basically, we discussed cooperation and Japanese investment in Georgia, especially in the sphere of energy, transport and tourism. Some agreements have been reached," he said
Gilauri will participate in the Georgian-Japanese business forum on Friday, where he will present the investment opportunities of Georgia.
