Iran tests missiles

Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps have tested ballistic missiles within the framework of the Great Prophet-7 military drills today, RIA Novosti reports.

Dozens of Shahab-1, Shahab-2 and Shahab-3 missiles were launched. Earlier reports said that the missiles were to use models of bases in the Semnan Province for targets.

Shahab-3 has a range of about 2,000 km, enough to attack Israel or US bases in the Middle East. They have been tested at a range of 200-750 km.

The military drills started on Monday and will be concluded on Wednesday. Jets and drones will be launched on Wednesday. The drills coincide with coming of the EU embargo on imports of petroleum from Iran into force.
