The police have caught over 40 militants involved in terrorism, kidnappings, loot, racketeering in Khasavyurt in the last 4 years, RIA Novosti reports.
The militants were caught in five areas. The militant group was under leadership of a 50-year old local.
The police found two traumatic pistols, a Sayga rifle and an F-1 grenade.
The militants are suspected of 3 crimes. The police believe that they demanded 150,000 rubles for people they kidnapped. They were caught after racketeering a tax inspector.
The police have initiated about 15 criminal cases.
