Russian parliament to operate under new order

The Russian parliament should change many points of its order due to upcoming changes, Speaker of Parliament Sergey Naryshkin said, Rossiyskaya Gazeta reports.

The official called the spring session of parliament a “session of political modernization”. Russia experienced the first mass registry of political parties in the last 20 years. Lawmakers became more open for the public and experts.

The bill simplifying the registry of political parties came into force in early April. The number of members needed to form a party was reduced from 40,000 to 500. The number of parties registered at the Justice Ministry increased from 7 to dozens.
