Clinton threatens Russia and China at "Friends of Syria" conference

US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on Friday called on allmember countries at the meeting of the so-called "Friends ofSyria" group in Paris to put pressure on Russia and China, which, in herview, are blocking a settlement of the Syrian conflict, RIA Novostireports with reference to Reuters.On Friday in Paris, a regular meeting of the so-called "Friends ofSyria" group started with the pariticipation of representatives of 50countries of the West and the Arab world, as well as severalinternational organizations.Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that Russia doesnot find it necessary to conduct any other conferences after the June30 conference in Geneva to address the problems in Syria. At the sametime, Lavrov said that Moscow does not support the goals faced by thisgroup, because they are "aimed at forcing a confrontation, not atcreating conditions for an all-Syrian dialogue without outsideinterference."
