Syrian President Bashar al-Assad does not think that the plan of the UN
Special Representative of the Arab League, Kofi Annan, has failed,
contrary to a statement made by the former UN secretary general,
Gazeta.ru reports.
"The biggest obstacle is that many countries do not
want the plan to be successful. They offer political support and
continue to supply Syrian terrorists with arms and money," al-Assad
said in an interview.
Al-Assad once again rejected the possibility of his resignation. "A
president should not run away from national problems," Deutsche Welle
quotes al-Assad.
