Abdullah Gul: "We will closely monitor Hollande's initiative to criminalize denial ofArmenian Genocide"

The President of Turkey Abdullah Gul said today that Turkey will "closely monitor the situation around the re-consideration of the bill criminalizing the denial of the so-called Armenian genocide in France, 1news.az reports citing the Turkish media.

Gul said that Ankara will not take hasty action on the basis of rumors about this. "At the last meeting with the president of France, we noted the need to strengthen bilateral relations", - Gul said.

Recall, as previously reported by VK the French president, Francois Hollande is preparing a new law which will introduce criminal charges for the denial of Armenian genocide. Hollande stated it at a meeting with representatives of the Coordination Council of Armenian Organizations in France.
