Opposition of Syria: Assad's resignation is only secondary issue

The question of resignation of Syrian President Bashar Assad is secondary, the main issue is the transition from the current phase of violence to a new stage - a democratic Syria, saa representative of the opposition movement "Democratic Tribune of Syria," Samir Eta, RIA Novosti reports.

The delegation of the movement "Democratic Tribune of Syria" is currently on a visit to Russia. Earlier on Monday it held talks with the Russian Foreign Minister, Sergei Lavrov.

"We have identified the primary purpose and it should be a democratic Syria", - Eta said.

"If you look at the real situation in Syria, at the violence, at tje destruction, than campared with these problems the figure of al-Assad is nothing. In fact, the Assad regime now serves the purpose of an objective set bu the Zionism which is the destruction of Syria," - Eta added.
