A new UN report gave a high rating to Iranian efforts against drug
trafficking and noted that Iran is the world leader in opium
confiscation, Trend reports.
The report says that most of the opium is confiscated in territories
bordering with Afghanistan, mainly in Iran and Pakistan. The report
notes that Iran is making efforts to prevent heroine being imported
from Afghanistan for export to Western Europe through Iran, Turkey and
South-Eastern European countries.
