Russian Navy to protect ships in Syria

The Russian Navy has been ordered to protect Russian ships, should Syria be under blockade, as stated by Vyacheslav Dzirkaln, Deputy Director of the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation, RIA Novosti reports.


The official denied presence of Russian military specialists in Syria. All contracts on provision of air defenses and helicopters to Syria will be fulfilled, he adds.


Ships of the Northern, Baltic and Black Sea Fleets departed towards Port Tartus in Syria on Tuesday.
