The issues of Armenian-Austrian economic cooperation were discussed in
Yerevan by Armenian Premier Tigran Sarkisyan and Austrian Federal
Minister for European and International Affairs Michael Spindelegger.
According to NEWS.am, citing the government's press-service, the
minister emphasized Austria's interest in activating cooperation in
South Caucasian countries. The sides signed a free market agreement.
The sides also emphasized the importance of stimulating investment.
The Austrian Foreign Minister expressed interest at the
press-conference with Edward Nalbandian in having a full picture of
the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. Earlier Spindelegger visited Baku. He
explained that the opening of the first Austrian diplomatic office in
the South Caucasus is due to its interest in the Nabucco project.
The Austrian delegation was also assisted by 40 businessmen who are
currently having meetings with Armenian businessmen.
