OSCE Minsk Group Ambassadors Robert Bradtke (USA), Igor Popov
(Russia) and Jacques Faure (France), together with the personal
representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office, Andrzej Kasprzyk, visited
Baku and Yerevan on July 10-13, where they met with Presidents Ilham
Aliyev and Serzh Sargsyan to discuss the latest efforts to resolve the
Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, a statement issued by the press
service of the OSCE reads.
The meetings confirmed the commitment of the countries to a peaceful
settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, the statement by
the representatives of the three member-states of the OSCE Minsk Group on
June 18 says.
The co-chairs expressed concern about recent incidents at the contact
line, and reaffirmed the political will of the parties to achieving
peace.
According to a report on the planned opening of the airport in
Nagorno-Karabakh, the co-chairs have received confirmation of the
parties renouncing the threat of force against civilians.
The co-chairs intend to meet separately with the foreign ministers of both
countries to prepare for a joint meeting in September.
