To celebrate the 20th anniversary of establishing of diplomatic relations between Georgia and the Vatican, the prefect of the Congregation of Eastern Churches of the Roman Curia, Cardinal Leonardo Sandri, has arrived in Tbilisi, Trend reports.
As the Foreign Ministry of Georgia told Trend, the cardinal met with the minister of foreign affairs of Georgia, Grigol Vashadze.
The sides discussed a wide range of issues of bilateral relations between Georgia and the Holy See, including the need to deepen relations between the states.
The sides also discussed prospects of development of relations in bilateral and multilateral formats and the consolidation of forces to global challenges.
A Vatican spokesman once again stated their support for Georgia's territorial integrity and political non-recognition of the occupied territories.
