The committee for international affairs of the Federation Council of Russia has approved simplification of the visa regime with the US, RIA Novosti reports.
Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov said that the document was ratified by the parliament on June 6. No additional expenses would follow, he says.
The agreement was reached on November 21, 2011, to simplify visits, develop economic, cultural, science, humanitarian ties.
The document sets a simplified order of business, private, humanitarian and tourist visas with invitations of up to 3 years, with 6 months of constant residence in the country. Visas will take 15 days to process.
