Turkey will help Georgia to join NATO

Turkey is assisting Georgia in its integration into NATO and this will continue in the future, Turkish Defence Minister Ismet Yilmaz, who is on a visit to Georgia, said on Wednesday, Trend reports.

On Wednesday, Yilmaz met with his Georgian counterpart Dmitry Shashkin.

The meeting was held behind closed doors, after which the ministers issued a press statement.

Shashkin said Turkey has always been a great friend of Georgia and helped it in its army development.

"Turkey has always supported Georgia's territorial integrity and provided support to its army from the technical and training point of view," he said.
