Moscow is hosting a CIS Youth Festival with the participation of over a hundred activists from Belarus, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Moldova, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Georgia, South Ossetia and Abkhazia attending, 1news.az reports.
They include young leaders and activists of public organizations, youth parliaments, student associations, bloggers and journalists aged 18-35.
The Days of Commonwealth Youth has been organized at the Ethnomir education center (Kaluga Region) for the second year with support of the International Fund for Humanitarian Cooperation of the CIS, Rossotrudnichestvo Federal Agency, Russian Public Chamber, regional administration, Fund for Assistance of Development of International Cooperation.
The young activists gather in Moscow. They will have conferences and meetings. Then they will move to Ethnomir for contests, sports competitions, concerts and plays.
Their visit was organized according to the presidential decree on visits of political, social, scientific and business foreigners to Russia, signed on October 19, 2011, and the of priority events of CIS humanitarian cooperation for 2011-2012. The initiative is to encourage young leaders to develop integration in Eurasia and intercultural dialogue.
Meetings will be held at the Federation Council of Russia, Russian parliament, Foreign Ministry, Rossotrudnichestvo, Public Chamber. Attendants will exchange views on all topical issues.
The festival is expected to end with foundation of the International Public Youth Organization Sodruzhestvo.
