World Congress of Vine and Wine finishes in Georgia

The 33th World Congress of Vine and Wine, in which more than 300 participants from 42 countries took part, has finished today in Tbilisi, Business-Georgia reports.
The director of the International Organization of Vine and Wine, Federico Castelucci, elaborated on the main tendencies of the world market of wine-making.
After a constant increase in wine exports from 2000, exports of Georgian wine decreased in 2008. This was mainly linked with the economic crisis. In spite of that, the volume of wine exports in 2009 was much higher than in 2006, Castelucci stated.
This was the 2nd World Wine congress to take place in Georgia. The first one was almost 50 years ago.
