Oil pipeline blast in Turkey

An oil pipeline connecting Iraq and Turkey has been blown up near Midiat in south-east of Turkey, ANS reports.

Oil pumping has been halted. Ankara blames the Kurdistan Workers’ Party for the incident. The latter has not admitted responsibility for it so far. It has taken responsibility for similar explosions earlier.

The blast-hit pipeline was used for a quarter of Iraqi oil exports to Turkey.
