Iranian police prepare for presidential elections

The Electoral Department of the Interior Ministry of Iran has developed a plan of organising and holding the presidential elections and elections to the fourth municipal and village Islamic councils in 2013. The head of the Election Department of the Interior Ministry of Iran, Hasanali Nuri, made the announcement, Trend cited the Iranian information agency IRNA.

At the moment the date of the elections is being confirmed; commissions will be formed after the election is held, Nuri said.

The previous presidential elections took place in Iran on June 12, 2009, when Mahmud Ahmadinejad celebrated victory. It is expected the coming eleventh presidential elections will take place in early 2013.
