Iran launched its largest oil tanker today in Bushehr province, Sadra Shipyard Director Salman Zarbi said, Trend reported.
The ceremony of launching the new giant tanker was attended by the mayor of Bushehr, representatives of the Venezuelan Oil Company, the Sadra Shipyard Director and Ayatollah Ali Khamenei's representative in Bushehr.
Last week Sadra Shipyard Director Salman Zarbi told journalists that in 2007 Venezuela had ordered 4 Aframax tankers with capacities of 94,000 tons each and Iran made some changes, bringing the tankers' capacities to 113,000 tons each.
The length of the tanker is 250 meters, width - 44 meters, height - 21 meters and draught - 14.8 meters.
The manufacturing cost of each tanker is some 57 million euros. Iran is currently carrying out work on the second tanker.
