Greek state bankruptcy would cost German taxpayers EUR 83 billion – Germany’s payments for the first and second bailout for Athens worth EUR 15 and EUR 22 billion, with EUR 13 billion in debts Berlin will have to pay, because the European Central Bank will have useless Greek government bonds if Athens goes bankrupt, world media report.
In addition, Germany would have to pay EUR 30 billion of the EUR 106 billion the Greek central bank would owe.
What is more, the IMF’s payments to Greece have a German share of EUR 3 billion.
