The Russian government has decided to put more effort into coping with ethnic conflicts, Izvestia reports.
Deputy ministers for regional development will supervise federal districts. Their authority will be extended. They will be responsible for the political climate in regions. Interethnic relations would be an essential component of their work.
The Interior Ministry and FSB will also develop measures to prevent ethnic conflicts.
The final version of their work will be discussed at the Cabinet on October 4, 2012.
