"The violence, the lack of proportionate response of the authorities, its inability to protect the civilian population suggests that the days of the regime are numbered, "- Mood said.


The observer compared the fight of the governmental troops with the forces of opposition with the struggle of the Old Testament heroes David and Goliath. In this case, according to Mood, the fall of the Assad regime in Syria cannot guarantee the end of the civil war in Syria. "Many believe that the withdrawal (from the post of the president) of Bashar al-Assad... would solve the problem. It is a simplification, and we should be more careful. The situation might even get worse," - the agency quotes Robert Mood saying.
