Iran hopes to convince global powers on nuclear program

Iran continues to hold talks about its nuclear program to achieve positive results, Ali Akbar Velayati, the chief adviser to the supreme leader Ayatollah Khomeini said, Trend reports with reference to the agency ISNA.

Velayati stated that Iran has the right to continue its peaceful nuclear program and urged the six international mediators Russia, Britain, China, USA, France and Germany to recognize Iran's right to use peaceful nuclear energy. Velayati said that he believes that the negotiations can be successful.

The talks on the nuclear issue between Iran and the six international mediators took place last week in Istanbul. On July 24 the Deputy Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of Iran Ali Bagheri held talks in Istanbul with the representatives of the six international negotiators - the Deputy High Representative for the Common Foreign and Security Policy, Helga Schmidt.

Michael Mann, a representative of the High Commissioner of the head of the EU foreign policy, Catherine Ashton said that the talks ended, but did not give any details about the results.
