Syrian flag appears on Eiffel Tower

Activists on Friday unfurled a giant flag of the Syrian opposition on construction scaffolding at the Eiffel Tower in Paris, RIA-Novosti reports quoting Le Nouvel Observateur.
The seven-by-thirty meter green-white-black tricolor with three stars on the white stripe - and speckled with simulated blood stains - was attached by activists of the “France Syria Democracy” organization. The organization campaigns for a foreign military intervention to topple President Bashar al-Assad.
“The international community, through its inaction, becomes an accomplice of al-Assad. It’s time to act,” RIA-Novosti quotes Ismael Hashem, the president of the organization and one of the two climbers who attached the flag.
