Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, has founded and headed a governmental commission on the coordination of the activities of the Open Government organisation, RIA Novosti reports.
Minister Mikhail Abyzov became deputy head of the commission. He will be responsible for communications with Open Government. The line-up of the new body has not yet been approved.
The governmental commission will be responsible for interaction between the federal executive authorities and representatives of civil society, associations and entrepreneurs in the formation and functioning of "Open Government".
As specified in the document, the commission will held meetings at least once a month in accordance with the plan of the new body.
The experts believe that the new commission will increase public control over "closed" institutions, create an "institute of complaints," vote, conduct referendums, polls and contests of ideas.
