Chinese vessels enter Black Sea

The Chinese destroyer Tsindao and the frigate Yantai are under the command of Deputy Commander of the Chinese Northern Fleet, Rear Admiral Yan Zufei. They were invited to take part in joint operations against pirates in the Gulf of Aden, ITAR-TASS reports.

The Tsindao has arrived in Sevastopol. It will stay there until August 5. The Yantai will stay at Port Constanta until August 9. The Montreaux Convention allows foreign vessels to stay in the Black Sea for a maximum of 21 days.

The Tsindao has a water displacement of 5,000 tons and carries C-801A missiles (with a range of 42 km), anti-aircraft rockets, artillery and torpedo systems.
