The Graparak paper of Yerevan believes that Armavia, the national air company of Armenia, is trying to make a profit of $245 for each ticket sold for flights to Syria, Tert.am reports.
Two flights are being made from Yerevan to Aleppo on Monday and Tuesday. One is organized by Armavia, the other by Syrian Airlines. The price of $285 per ticket is no longer realistic, because all tickets until September have been booked.
Some say that an Aleppo-Yerevan flight may cost $900.
Armavia said yesterday that it would organize an additional flight every week. Firdus Zakaryan, chairman of the commission for Syrian Armenians, said that Armavia President Mikhail Bagdasarov expects to get 100,000 drams from the state budget for each ticket. The minimum ticket price is 116,000 ($285).
The Ministry of Economy of Armenia received the proposal from Armavia and will consider it soon.
