The Syrian Air Forces have killed 16 militants after an attack on the control post at Busra al-Harir on Thursday night, RIA Novosti reports.
The militants were members of the al-Hariri clan, notorious for fighting against Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.
The conflict in Syria has been going on since March 2011. The UN says that over 16,000 people have died. The Syrian authorities say that they face well-armed opposition supported by foreign states. Russia and China fear that foreign intervention in Syria and loss of statehood would escalate the conflict.
