Moscow and Damascus have reached an agreement about supplies of
Russian energy resources to Syria in the near future, vice-head of the Syrian government for
economic questions, Qadri Jamil, told a press-conference on
Friday, RIA Novosti reports.
"An agreement with Russia on these questions was reached, and I hope
that concrete steps will be taken within the next few weeks," he said.
Western states against Syria" negatively affect the country's economy.
In particular, there is a shortage of oil and oil products.
"These sanctions are illegal, and Russian has decided to provide economic
aid to Syria in this situation," he added.
