Russian police kill militant in Dagestan

Law-enforcement officers have killed a suspected militant near the capital of the Russian North Caucasus republic of Dagestan, a police spokesman said early on Saturday, RIA Novosti reports.

“The suspect offered resistance and was killed in the shootout,” the spokesman said.

An assault rifle and a grenade were seized from the site.
