84-year old former Azerbaijani Speaker of Parliament Murtuz Aleskerov has died.
Aleskerov was born in Ganja on September 20, 1928. He graduated at the Baku State University, he started teaching there in 1954. He was a senior teacher, assistant professor, head of the department for international law and constitutional law.
Aleskerov was the head of the Baku State University in 1993-1996, Speaker of Parliament in 1996-2005.
He was a PhD in Law, professor, honorary lawyer of Azerbaijan. Aleskerov was awarded with the Istidlal Order, the Order of the Commonwealth and the Order of Friendship, an honorary diploma of the Azerbaijani president.
