The police caught Rustam Khamanayev, leader of the Alkhovskaya Gang, in Khasavyurt on Tuesday-Wednesday night, RIA Novosti reports.
Three militants gave up one died. Khamanayev, born in 1986, met emissaries of international terrorist organizations in 2011. The militant leader is responsible for the attack on police officers in Khasavyurt in November 2011, resulting in one officer dead and one wounded. He was put on the federal wanted list in December 2011.
According to preliminary information, the killed militant was Azartsumov Husein, nicknamed Halid, born in 1975. He joined the terrorists in 2006. He is responsible for destroying the car of Police Lieutenant-Colonel Ibragim Jabrailov. The officer died.
