The state forces of Syria have taken the Salah Ed-Din District of Aleppo and surrounding areas under control. The next district to fight for is Sukkari, RIA Novosti reports.
Asiyle and Bab an-Nasr were liberated by the Syrian forces earlier. Numerous militants were killed. The Salah Ed-Din District will need a day to be cleared of resistance.
Many militants have been captured. They include citizens of Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia and Yemen.
The state forces are currently fighting at the Meyrab Airfield near the Aleppo International Airport.
Salim Habr, an expert for strategic problems, said that clearing the city of militants will be decisive and will mean defeat of “terrorists supported by the US and its allies in the region”.
