Iraq has demanded Total, a French petroleum company, to end all oil extraction in Kurdistan, especially the Halfaya Field, Deputy Minister for Energy Hussein al-Shahristani said, ITAR-TASS reports.
The Kurdistan Province has made dozens of contracts with western companies to extract hydrocarbons without permission of Baghdad. Iraq considers it illegal.
