An militant leader from the Gorno Badakhshan Autonomous Region of Tajikistan, Tolib Ayombekov, and a group of his supporters have given up, RIA Novosti reports.
Ayombekov’s group is suspected of murdering General Abdullo Nazarov, Chief of the State Committee for National Security of Tajikistan on July 21.
Two suspects gave up on August 10.
Ayombekov was reportedly kept at a hospital in Khorog.
A major operation in the autonomous region started on July 24. 30 militants were killed and over 40 detained. The state forces lost 17 men and got 40 injured.
