Visa formalities between Russia and the US will be simplified from
September 9, the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced.
The Ministry says that "according to the agreement, the citizens of
both countries can be issued multi-entry visas valid for 36 months and
6 months after each entry." It is expected that within the framework
of this agreement Russian will issue business, private and tourist
visas at the invitation of the receiving party, while the US will
issue B1\B2 visas.
Decisions should be made within 15 days.
The agreement to simplify the visa regime between Russian and the US
was signed on November 21, 2011. It aims to create favorable
conditions for the development of economic, cultural and
scientific connections between the two states.
