Ukraine denies sales of volley fire systems to Armenia

The Ukrainian Embassy in Azerbaijan has denied sales of volley fire systems to Armenia in 2011, Interfax-Ukraine reports.

The embassy called the copy of the letter of Ukrainian defense minister posted on August 8, 2012, false. The letter contains a scheme of illegal shipments of 12 Smerch volley fire systems, and 50 Igla complexes. Fake companies registered in the EU and CIS were used for the shipment. Armenia paid 50% of the price. Ukrspetsexport was recommended to cancel the deal with Armenia publicly to continue cooperation with Azerbaijan.
