Iran calls for defense pact among Muslim countries

Iran's Defense Minister, Brigadier-General Ahmad Vahidi, has called for the formation of defense treaties among Muslim countries with the aim of defending the Palestinian nation and the Muslim world.

“If a strong and strategic defense alliance is formed among Muslim countries to defend Palestine, the Zionist Regime [of Israel] will have no choice but to accept the resolve and demand of the Palestinian nation,” Vahidi said on Tuesday.

Vahidi described unity in the Muslim world and among Muslims as the most important factor for countering "the ominous plots of the Israeli regime."
