Germany to help Georgia with healthcare management

German Secretary of State Thomas Ilka recently visited Georgia along with a delegation from the Federal Ministry of Health.

Meetings with the deputy minister at the Ministry of Health, Labour and Social Affairs of Georgia, Irakli Nadareishvili, as well as representatives of insurance companies, hospitals and NGO leaders were held during the visit, the German Embassy in Georgia told Trend.

The purpose of the meetings was to familiarise the group with the health system in Georgia. Issues of deepening bilateral cooperation and management in healthcare were discussed during the visit.

Germany has already provided assistance to Georgia in the past in the fight against tuberculosis with the training of medical staff, as well as humanitarian aid.
