Turkey may start operation against PKK in Syria

Turkish president Abdullah Gul said that Ankara may start an operation against the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) if it becomes a threat to Turkey in the northern part of Syria, Trend reports.

The Turkish leader believes that Syrian President Bashar al-Assad is capable of arming Kurdish militants. He also noted that Kurds have the right to self-identification and freedom, but should be distinguished from peaceful Kurds and PKK terrorists.
