Germany sends humanitarian aid worth €150,000 to Iran

Germany has sent humanitarian aid worth €150,000 to Iran to recover after the earthquake, RIA Novosti cites German Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle as saying.

The Eastern Azerbaijan Province of Iran in the north-west of the country was hit by an earthquake with a magnitude of 6.5 points, 32 km away from Ahar at a depth of 9.8 km on Saturday. An earthquake with a magnitude of 6 points and less was registered at Varazkan. Quakes were registered in Western Azerbaijan, Gilan, Zenjan and Ardebil.

Over 300 people died and thousands were injured. Rescuers continue their operations. Two days of mourning was announced on August 13-14.
